However, the Narcotics Control Bureau began its investigation based on WhatsApp chats retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s phone, which revealed conversations about drug acquisition, allegedly for Sushant Singh Rajput. The office alleged Dipesh Sawant (a member of the domestic staff of Mr. Rajput) collected and delivered 165 grams of marijuana on orders from Rhea and Showik Chakraborty between March and June 2020. On September 8, 2020, Rhea was arrested under Section 27 A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Her Rs cash bail was granted by the Bombay High Court.1 lakh on October 7, 2020.
