What Exactly Is Going On In Megan Is Missing?
It tells the storey of two teenage best friends in North Hollywood, California, Megan Stewart (Rachel Quinn) and Amy Herman (Amber Perkins), as told through found footage by American filmmaker Michael Goi.
When Megan starts corresponding with a boy she met online, she vanishes, sending Amy on a perilous quest to track her down.
It was originally shot in 2006 by Goi, who is on to work on American Horror Story and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Anchor Bay Films gave it a limit theatrical release in 2011, but that until 2011.
What Makes It So Contentious?
Officially, Megan Is Missing is outlawed in New Zealand, where the Office of Film and Literature Classification deems it “objectionable.”
