A police officer justifiy in shooting and killing a handcuffed man inside a police station nearly two years ago.

According to reports, Tyler Longman will not face any charges in connection with the disastrous shoot of Michael Breinholt, 31, on Aug. 23, 2019.

The Full Story

Breinholt was being held in the West Valley City police station following an arrest for intoxication. His hands are cuffs behind his back as he waited to be processed.

Body camera footage shows him grappling with two officers, with one of them yelling. Hence that time Breinholt was attempting to take his gun from his possession. The weapon appears to have remained in the holster, according to the video.

According to the video, Longman entered the room during the fight and grabbed Breinholt’s head while yelling that he was about to die before firing his weapon.

In his statement, someone stated that he believe Breinholt’s death could have prevente. And that Longman’s statement was “reprehensible and unnecessary.” However, he noted that his decision would be based solely on whether or not his actions were legally justified.

It is not unreasonable for us as asking for different outcomes. Therefore changing the law is one way to achieve that.

According to some reports, Breinholt’s family believes that lethal force was unnecessary and intended to file a lawsuit.

Longman History In Killing People

Immediately following the shooting, Longman was place on administrative leave. But he returns to work less than two months later. Longman has been involved in three police shootings. In 2007, he shot and kill a man, and in 2008, he shot and kill another man, both of whom legally justifies.
